*Scavenger Hunts - How to Create

HOW TO CREATE IN-APP SCAVENGER HUNTS

Use Cases:
  1. Explore the Campground / Resort
  2. Sales Stay Activity
  3. Get to know your neighbor - Great for the beginning of the season

Eat / Shop / Play : 
  1. Boutique / Restaurant Crawl
  2. Meet the Membership
  3. Small Business Saturday Selfies
  4. Community Traveling Art or Temporary Exhibits throughout the Community

USAGE TIP:
Create a Question / Answer Clue that asks the user their Name and Contact Information.  The tool does not automatically collect this information.
Mark these are required fields as the first clues to complete.

How to Build A Scavenger Hunt:

Click "Manage Hunts" - Left side of the Admin Console
Hunts that have been created are displayed in the center
Click "Add Item" to create a new hunt



Next Steps:

Click: "Add Item"
Title: Enter Name of Scavenger Hunt
Description : Enter the pertinent information for the Scavenger Hunt.  What is the intent, what is the reward, time parameters, etc.
*This will display on the homescreen of the Scavenger Hunt prior to starting the clues.
Start Hunt Text: Customize the "Start Hunt" button text
Check the appropriate boxes:
  1. Requires Log-In - Optional to prompt users to "log-in" to the app to capture names and emails of entrants.
  2. Add Hunt Disclaimer - Disclaimer text will appear prior to the Hunt starting.
Examples: Any photos submitted may be used in our Social Media
  1. Display Steps One at a Time   
Note: If checked, users cannot see the following clues until they are answered one at a time.  If "unchecked" the clues will appear in a list to be answered in any order.
  1. Available in Hunt Menu - As of 9/25/24 -Phasing out this option. Multiple Hunts can be displayed in a Submenu

Hunt Type:
Choose General to create a Scavenger Hunt
(Option: Choose Golf Scorecard - See "Golf Scorecard" within the Help section)




How to Add An Image:

1 - Click Image Bar:
Click "Upload Picture" -Choose a picture from your computer
Click "Use Image"

2 - Find Stock Image
Enter a keyword to look through "royalty-free" stock images to use 
Click on image 
Click "OK"
Click "Use Image"

3 - Click "Generate Image" to curate an image using AI Technology

Upload a Cover Image for the Scavenger Hunt


Click The "Steps" Bar to create each clue:

Title: Clue Name
Step: Enter the text of the clue
Hint (Optional): If a "Hint" is added, a "Hint" button will appear at the bottom of the clue
Step Type:
  1. Photo - User can submit the photos through the app.  When they click "Take Photo", the User's camera will open and a photo can be submitted.  Users are also prompted to share the photo on social media.
  2. Clue / Answer - Add a question and the user types in an answer  (Ability to include a Clue as well)
    1. Possible Answers - Enter options and click "Add Answer" after each.
      1. Example: If the answer is 12, you can enter possible answers of 12 or Twelve.  If either is entered, they will automatically be marked as Correct answers.
  3. QR Scan - Associate a QR code to any Clue.  Users can scan the QR codes that are at the Clue locations.
    1. A unique QR Code is automatically created per Step.  
    2. Once scanned, if you click "Skip Splash Screen", the user will be taken directly to the Scavenger Hunt
    3. Click "Download Image" to save QR Code
    4. Click "Copy" to save the QR Code URL 
            NOTE: If you have an existing QR Code, click "Use Existing QR Code" and enter the appropriate information
  1. Multiple Choice -Users can choose from multiple options.
    1. Enter each option and click "Add Choice" after each
    2. Click on the correct answer or click "No Correct Answer"
      1. If there is a correct answer chosen, the question will be automatically graded.
      2. Answers can  be sorted in alphabetical order by clicking "Sort AZ"
Step Header Image : Each clue can have it's own image that will appear with each clue.
Choose: "Select New Image"  "Find Stock Image" or "Generate Image"

Hide Title in Android : If the clue has text that matches the Clue title, you can  click this so the information is not duplicated on Android phones.

Step Is Required
Check if specific questions are required.  Leave unchecked if not required.

Location / Map Button
No Location: No location is necessary 
GPS Location: Specific address is associated with a clue
App Created Map: Annotated map location will appear




Click: Add Step
After Making Updates to a clue - Click Update Step
Notes:  Make sure that you click : "Add Step" after creating each clue.  
Once you are finished adding your clues (or are finished for the time being) then click Submit.

Scroll Up to Enter the next clue.
Proceed entering the clues until complete.
Click Submit

UPDATE CLUE:
To Edit any clue:
Click on the Clue
Make the necessary edits.
Click: "Update Step" 
Click Submit

RESET CLUE:
To clear the clue and start anew, click the "Reset Clue" button

COMPLETION / SUBMISSION CONFIGURATION
Completion Pop Up Title: Title of the text that appears when all of the required fields are completed.

Completion Pop-Up Description:  Text that appears when all of the required or all of the steps are completed.

Submission Message: Message to show when User submits the hunt 

HUNT CONTACTS:
Enter Email address of those who should be notified when a Scavenger Hunt is submitted.
Click "Add Email"

To receive notifications via Text, add a phone number
Choose Country
Enter Phone Number]
Enter Provider
Click: Add Item

QR CODE:
Right Click to save QR Code associated to this specific Scavenger Hunt


NOTE: Multiple email addresses and phone numbers can be added.
