Push Notifications 1 - Set Up Types & Groups

HOW TO SET UP PUSH NOTIFICATION TYPES & GROUPS WITHIN THE ADMIN CONSOLE

Terminology:

Type: A "Topic" of a Push Notification
Group: A targeted audience of users

NOTE:
By Default - All Users and Local/Current Guests are automatic "Group" options
"Local" is defined by any user, with location services on, that is within 1 mile of the Community location. 
If you would like the "local" range changed, please contact us.


OPT - IN / OPT -OUT OPTIONS or DEFAULT


Both "Types" & "Groups" can be set to be a default setting of logged in at the time of download or they can be set as "Opt In" / "Opt Out"


TYPE
USE CASES:
Default Subscription Scenarios:
  1. General News
  2. Promotional Announcements

Opt-In / Opt-Out Subscription Scenarios:
  1. Sports Leagues - Users can "Opt-in" to stay up to date on schedules, cancellations, etc.
  2. Storage / Miscellaneous Services - Users utilizing "Storage" services can subscribe to these messages to be notified of storm damage, payments due, storage news, etc.


GROUP:
USE CASES:

Default Subscription Scenario:
  1. All Users
  2. Local / Current Guests

Private Group Subscription Scenarios:
  1. Staff
  2. Board of Directors
  3. Seasonal Guests
  4. Chamber of Commerce Members
  5. Faculty / Administration
