Chambermaster Import Instructions

Objective: To import businesses into the appropriate categories and sections within the App My Community mobile app


Here are the steps for populating your mobile app from Chambermaster:


PART 1:

Determine your 3 or 4 sections (Eat/Shop/Play/Stay or whatever you'd like them named).

Part 2:

Create categories for each section.  You must add all categories that content will be imported into prior to the import.
Compile a list of categories per section in Word or Excel (will need to paste this list into Chambermaster)

Notes
Word / Excel Category List Format :
Section 1
Category 1
Category 2
Section 2
Category 1
Category 2
Section 3
Category 1
Category 2

Add these categories to the Admin Console under each section.

Steps to Add Categories in the Admin Console:

  1. Click "Add Item"
  2. Title: Name of category
  3. Scroll or Search for an Icon
  4. Choose Type: Detail Pages or Submenu
  5. Check the box for "Multiple Item Listing" for detail pages to allow for more than one business to be included in that category
  6. Click Submit

PART 3 - Chambermaster Steps:

Go to the Administrative Options : Set Up
Click the General Tab (along the left side)
Click Add/Edit "Custom Fields"

Click Add (New Custom Field)
Name; ESP Category 1 (don't forget the spaces)
  1. Data Type: List
  2. Bulk Entry
  3. Paste in the list 
  4. Click Save
  5. Click Continue
  6. Click Save

Repeat this process for ESP Category 2, ESP Category 3, ESP Category 4 

To Edit these categories:
Click Add & Edit Custom Forms to Edit these lists as needed.

Warning
Please note: If you want to add future categories, currently it seems as though you will have to go into each category (ESP Category 1, 2 etc) and add them individually.

Membership Category Assignments:

Go into each member record and assign them to 1 or multiple of the ESP Categories.

Report Process:

Click Reports
Choose: Custom Member Report
CONTACT INFORMATION

Expand the following categories and check the required categories to import:
Below are examples of commonly imported fields to capture basic contact information.

FIELDS REPORTED:
  1.       Primary Phone
  2.       Website
  3.       Physical Address 1
  4.       Physical City
  5.       Physical State
  6.       Physical Zip (Note: Do not use Full Physical Address)
MEMBER INFORMATION:
  1.        Member ID
  2.        Display Name
CUSTOM MEMBER FIELDS: 
  1.       ESP Category 1
  2.       ESP Category 2
  3.       ESP Category 3, etc
WEBPAGE INFORMATION:
  1.       Member description
  2.       Display Name (Versus Company Name)
     
Click the prompts to continue.
Choose Files by Member listing
Click Save Report / Name the report for future reference

FINAL STEP:
Email the report to App My Community for import @ joe@armstrongsoft.com
